Robert teaches this course with a passion borne from a place of great personal experience. He’ll share how he was pronounced dead in hospitals twice as a boy. When he left his body under a surgeon’s knife in a Melbourne hospital during an emergency appendectomy when he was nine, he was drawn into another world — and seemed to live a whole life there before he came back.

Module 1: Explore Life After Life & Non-Ordinary Reality for Guidance, Blessing & an Orientation That Bring Healing & Forgiveness (September 21)

Robert will discuss where to go for reliable evidence of life after death. He’ll guide you through a survey of the rich world literature on ecstatic journeys and near-death experiences.
The human belief that consciousness survives the body, and what the architecture of heavens, hells, and other collective situations are in the afterlife, are founded on shamanic experience and personal dreams.
Shamanism tells us that either the departed come calling or the dreamer travels beyond the body. Shamans are the original scientists of the afterlife, the once and future masters of this field.
By definition, shamans have died and come back. They have firsthand knowledge of what lies beyond the gates of death and can return intentionally through those gates to communicate with the spirits, to guide and relocate souls, and better understand the geography of non-ordinary reality.

Module 2: Dream With the Departed for Closure & Giving/Receiving Forgiveness & Guidance (September 28)

On a cellular level, you carry the collective memory of your ancestors. To know this requires only the act of remembering.
On a psychic level, you’re constantly connected to the energies of both the departed and the living. To see this requires only a shift in perception.
You have entirely natural communication with the departed in your dreams. For many dreamers, this is direct and life-changing evidence of the reality of the soul — and its survival of physical death.
The departed appear in your dreams because they haven’t really left, they come visiting, or you enter their realms.
These encounters offer important opportunities for healing, closure, and giving or receiving forgiveness and guidance.
In this module, you’ll:
- Discern whether the appearance of a deceased person in a dream is a transpersonal encounter or a projection of an aspect of the dreamer
- Clarify the reasons for a visitation (there are 13 main reasons)
- Learn that a beloved animal that shared your life may be a wonderful friend on the Other Side

Module 3: Visiting the Departed on the Other Side for Healing Ancestral Wounds (October 5)
Robert will guide you to call in spiritual guidance and protection as you embark on a journey to the Other Side.
Experience helpful and timely communication with someone who resides there. This may be a departed friend, a loved one who has appeared to you in a dream, or an ancestor from further back.
You may choose to use a personal dream as the portal for the journey.
Robert will also invite you to use group portals that have opened the way for previous travelers.

Dante’s Divine Comedy is a great mythic tour of the afterlife from the heart of Western literature.
Guided by key passages from the medieval visionary imagination and while still stirred by the poetry, you’ll follow the journey of the soul — aided by dreams and an ancestral guide — through the gate to purgatory and on to the encounter with the beloved of the soul.
In this module, you’ll:
- Be guided to climb the 3 great steps to the angelic gatekeeper
- Participate in a journey, powered by shamanic drumming, to scale the soul mountain to meet the Soul of your Soul, however she chooses to appear to you

Module 5: Make Death Your Ally to Access Power & Healing for Every Part of Your Life (October 19)
Robert will challenge you to reach into the place of your deepest fears to face death on its own ground — and revalue your life and its purpose from this perspective.
When you confront your personal death and receive its teaching, you forge an alliance that becomes a source of power and healing in every aspect of life.

It encourages the ability to go beyond the surface vicissitudes of daily life. It brings keen awareness of a larger reality.

- Experience the weighing of the heart-guided practice
- Determine what you need to do to move on without regrets
- Encounter a personal death
- Renegotiate your present life contract and honor death as an ally
Module 6: Help the Deceased Settle Unfinished Business & Call in Guidance to Illuminate Your Own Purpose (October 26)
The living have the ability to assist the imaginations of the dead.

The deceased may need help and guidance from you because they have unfinished business — or because they’re lost, confused, crippled by guilt, or unable to detach from old environments and addictions.
Many of the dead remain near the living because they don’t know they’re dead.
As Robert will explain, sometimes you may be called on to provide or arrange rehab and escort services for the departed — and to develop rituals to separate and safely contain heavy energy that has remained with the living in ways that are unhealthy for all involved.
In this module, you’ll learn how to:
- Call in guidance for the deceased
- Assist the imaginations of the dead
- Help the deceased settle unfinished business
- Assist suicides and those who fear they are damned
- Construct a loving ritual of forgiveness or farewell
- Conduct a “second burial” to deal with heavy energy of the dead
Module 7: Take Your First Steps on the Other Side to Open to & Manifest New Dreams of Possibility (November 2)
Make careful exploration of the first transitions on the other side, as experienced by many who make the crossing.
Follow the trail of previous travelers, while staying open to fresh experiences and to growing new dreams of possibility.
Consider maps for afterlife transitions from several world traditions, as well as plausible accounts channeled from residents, soul travelers, and subjects of hypnotic regression.
In this module, you’ll:
- Encounter personal gatekeepers and welcoming committees
- Visit a place of rest and relaxation on the Other Side
- Go through an initial life review
- Re-envision a life story
- Inspect some collective belief territories

About Robert Moss
Robert Moss is the creator of Active Dreaming, an original synthesis of modern dreamwork and shamanism. He survived three near-death experiences as a child, which provided him with early access to other realms. He leads popular seminars all over the world, including a 3-year training for teachers of Active Dreaming. A: It’s a great way to engage live and pre-recorded teachings and each other from the comfort of your home! All you need is a computer, mobile device, or telephone.
